A bespoke wedding suit is handcrafted, elegant, and one-of-a-kind. Investing in a bespoke suit is the best way to ensure you look flawless on the special day.

The master tailors of Phillip Alexander have been crafting beautiful bespoke tailored suits for men to wear on their wedding day since 1876.

MADE TO MEASURE WEDDING SUITS

The groom should not be content to settle for an ill-fitting ready-made suit when you have the option to buy a personalised suit crafted by our master tailors. Our process allows you to select your ideal suit elements to make a suit with a unique design that is exactly how you envisaged it in your head.

You can personalise most aspects of your wedding suit jacket, from the style of the suit to the number of buttons. If this is your first tailoring experience, our master tailors can help you select a style that compliments you. As the groom, it’s only right you show up to your special day in a stunning made to measure suit that is a perfect fit.

LUXURY WEDDING SUIT HIRE

Our unique men’s wedding suit hire service is the perfect solution for men who want a beautifully tailored suit, but are restricted by time or budget.

After you have chosen the style of your garment, detailed measurements are taken by a professional tailor. We will carefully note your shape as well as your size. The garment is then re-tailored to fit you.

You can choose from a wide range of suits to find the perfect suit for your big day. Our master tailor will make any adjustments necessary to ensure your suit fits impeccably – even though you will only wear the suit for a day, there is no reason why it should not fit you perfectly.

The Groom Is The Leading Man Of The Show

The bridal gown is the star of the show.  But the groom leads the guests in dress and style.   The groom sets the tone and everyone follows suit. As such, your attire and deportment must not only do your bride an honour, but justice to your guests, and stir pride in your descendants as the photos of this day will live on for generations.

You don’t want to look and feel uncomfortable in a badly fitted and hastily chosen ‘designer’ off-the-peg suit. Instead, consider this unique obligation carefully. Left in the hands of the tailors at Phillip Alexander, you will be guided, advised, even shown how to wear it. And with your own unique flare and chosen details, by Jove, will you be the leading man of the show!

Wedding Etiquette for the Groom and Groomsmen

The Groom

What should the man of the hour wear on his wedding day?

The groom should wear what looks best. First and foremost that means a suit, and that frequently includes the groom’s own style and preferences – flash or otherwise.  But he should also look as appealing as his partner. And that means, to name but a few: a good waist to shoulder ratio for broadness, accentuated leg length for height, cleanly laying suit material with few or no rumpless, fullness of chest, and not looking like the suit is about to burst.

To get you looking right when the day is in full swing and you’re caught off guard by the camera – that needs a tailor! And with that comes the full confidence of a groom well dressed.

The Groomsmen

As for the groomsmen, the groom tells them what to wear. Usually, though not always, they will match the groom’s outfit, though they are not expected to reach quite the same standard.  If the groom wears a dinner suit, so do the groomsmen – simple.  If the grooms decides on a smoking jacket for example, most if not all the groomsmen should still wear a dinner suit.  They should not attempt to match the groom in every aspect, but compliment him and help bring the day together.

Father of the bride suits

The Father of the Bride

Let’s say a few words about this man.  Potentially the most emotional man on the day and often overlooked, the Father of the Bride has the least constraints of anyone on what he ought to wear.  After all, traditionally it is his party and he hosts everyone. With that in mind some special attention is deserved and that certainly extends to his attire.

Being from an older generation, the father of the bride might not feel comfortable in a modern or untraditional suit that matches the rest of the wedding party. For this reason, he may choose to wear a different colour or style of suit than the rest of the groomsmen. A proper tailor will know how best to dress you, and has the experience to see how that will look while giving away a daughter, making sure you do it with pride.
